There are many national scholarships and fellowships available to undergraduates and recent graduates. Explore the directory below to discover if there is one that is matches your qualifications and future plans. To ensure that you are eligible, check the programs鈥� websites for applicant requirements and read information about previous recipients, particularly the average GPAs.
Applying for these opportunities requires a large time investment, but the process can often be very beneficial for helping you to refine your goals and articulate your interests. You should start the process months in advance of the national deadline. If the scholarship requires an institutional endorsement or on-campus interview, you should contact the Fellowships Advisor at least one month prior to the national deadline.
Remember: These opportunities are advertised to people all over the country, so most of them are very competitive and require numerous rounds of application revisions. Many of the national programs require an internal application through Augsburg. Please contact the Fellowships Advisor, for more information.

- The Public Policy and International Affairs Program (PPIA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting increased diversity in graduate studies in public policy and international affairs
- The PPIA Junior Summer Institute (JSI) is a fully-funded program for undergraduate juniors committed to public service careers
- Students selected for the JSI will study over the summer on one of their participating universities: Carnegie Mellon University, Princeton University, University of California Berkeley, University of Michigan, University of Minnesota, or University of Washington

- Students will receive up to $25,000 per year in 鈥渓ast dollar鈥� financial aid for their junior and senior years of college. This financial aid should alleviate the burden of college debt so that students can afford to pursue a career in public service.
- Students will receive a $10,000 stipend and free Airbnb housing to pursue a summer work-travel experience between their junior and senior year of college.
- Students will be invited each fall to an annual summit to help define and inspire their public service journey.

- Applicants are welcome from every field and background, with interests that range from the military, government, or nonprofit leadership; campus reform; cutting-edge research; faith-based innovation; community activism; and countless other meaningful pathways.
- Successful candidates share a background of significant leadership, public service commitment, and academic achievement. Candidates should be college juniors, US citizens, and plan to attend graduate school within a few years of completing their undergraduate degrees.

- Offers undergraduate students the opportunity to complete a summer research internship at top German universities and research institutes
- Students are matched with a host university or institute based on their area of interest
- Provides a monthly stipend for three (3) months to help with living expenses

Foreign Affairs Information Technology
- Foreign Affairs Information Technology (FAIT) Fellowship offers $87,000 in academic funding over two years
- Summer internships with stipends and professional development and mentorship
- Upon successful completion, fellows receive an appointment in the Foreign Service as Information Management Specialists

- To be eligible, you must be nominated by a faculty member and receive an institutional endorsement

The Luce Scholars Program offers early career leaders immersive, professional experiences in Asia. The Program aims to forge stronger, more informed, more compassionate relationships across geographic borders by creating opportunities for young Americans across diverse sectors and interests to deepen their ties and understanding of the countries, cultures, and people of Asia.

The Luce Scholar Year is a thirteen-month commitment beginning with the orientation in mid-June through the wrap-up meeting in late-July of the following year.
- After a week-long orientation designed to build community and prepare for a year of living and working in Asia, Luce Scholars spend July and August engaging in intensive language training in their respective placement countries. Language study is a program requirement and is funded by the Luce Foundation.
