Once accepted into the 含羞草视频 StepUP Program, eligible students will be invited to live in our sober living residence halls at the Oren Gateway Center. Transitioning into substance-free college housing helps scholars live a life of recovery while thriving in a community of accountability and support.
Oren Gateway Center is a multipurpose, 118,000 square foot building made for substance-free college housing, working, studying, and eating. It was designed by BWBR Architects in St. Paul, Minnesota, and was built in 2007 to accommodate more than 100 students in the StepUP Program. The trendy condo-style building also has underground parking.
Oren Gateway Center consists of four floors with ample space for each student. The first floor includes classrooms, offices, the 含羞草视频 bookstore, Nabo Caf茅, the Veterans Lounge, a conference center, and study spaces. The north wing of the building holds sober student housing on the second, third, and fourth floors. The layout of each residence floor includes separate kitchens, living rooms, bathrooms, and storage spaces shared between every three to four StepUP scholars’ residences, giving them enough room to live without feeling crowded. All of the StepUP scholars’ residences are single bedrooms.
Higher education Scholars that are not attending Augsburg are also welcome to join the StepUP Program and live in the Oren Gateway Center.

Oren Gateway Center Substance-Free Agreement and Recovery Support Agreement
The residential portion of Oren Gateway Center is a place free of alcohol and illegal drugs. Residents and their guests may not use or possess alcohol or illegal drugs while in Oren Gateway Center. Violation of this policy may result in reassignment to other available university housing outside of Oren Gateway. If Oren Gateway Center residents or guests choose to use such substances outside of the building, they may face consequences related to their StepUP and/or sober living eligibility upon their return to Oren Gateway.
As a member of the Oren Gateway Center community, students are part of the 含羞草视频 commitment to provide recovery support and substance-free living for the Oren Gateway residential population. All students who live in Oren Gateway Center are required to complete the Substance-Free Agreement. Students who live in Oren Gateway Center and who are not participating in the StepUP program are required to complete the Recovery Ally training program and the Recovery Support Agreement in addition to the Substance-Free Agreement.

Our program provides a community of support for students – from their peers, Student Peer Advisors (specialized Resident Assistants), and their professional StepUP counselors. Deidre Middleton Office of Academic Advising, Lindell Library, Floor 2
Staff in Academic Advising work with students who have questions about the general education requirements and interpretation of the academic procedures and policies of the University.聽 As well, staff in Academic Advising assist students in acquiring study skills, and strive to help students become more proficient, self-directed learners. The coaches offer services in time management, note-taking, text-book reading, study strategies, writing skills, and exam preparation.

The Center for Wellness and Counseling (CWC) offers programs and services that enhance student learning by promoting personal development and well-being. Services include counseling, student health clinic, student health insurance, and health promotion.
Christensen Center, Floor 1
The Strommen Center offers almost limitless opportunities for you to gain concrete on-the-job and community service experience and has developed partnerships with community organizations and employers that provide learning opportunities to students, many of which fulfill the Augsburg Experience requirement for graduation.
Lindell Library, Floor 2
The Center for Learning and Accessible Student Services (CLASS)/Disability Resources聽 provides services and accommodations to individuals with learning, attentional, psychiatric or other cognitive disabilities. These individualized services are provided by highly-skilled professionals.

The Department of Public Safety (DPS) provides patrol, parking, workplace safety, and emergency preparedness and key/lock services. Our Communications Center monitors alarms, CCTV, dispatches calls and is the campus switchboard.

Augsburg’s Enrollment Center gives students the opportunity to register for courses, make tuition payments, access student account information, or request a transcript. Staff members are ready to assist you in all aspects of registration and financing your education.
The James G. Lindell Library is home to many different resources, including multiple electronic databases.The library has many different types of resources that students can borrow, from books to laptops to DVDs. Small group study rooms on the 3rd floor are very popular with students.
Residence Life helps students transition into college life by providing a variety of experiences through housing on campus.聽 In addition housing the department offers programming and educational opportunities to enhance the student鈥檚 academic experience.

The IT departments provide computer and telecom support for current students, faculty, and staff of Augsburg聽University.

TRIO/SSS works to help students overcome class, social and cultural barriers to complete their college education. Funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Student Support Services is committed to helping low-income, first-generation college students and students with disabilities achieve a bachelor鈥檚 degree.

The Writing Lab offers one-to-one tutoring to students who want help in developing the skills necessary for effective writing. The Lab approaches writing as a process. Students are encouraged to bring in projects at any stage of completion — rough notes, drafts, finished essays, graded papers — and are offered help with any aspect of the writing process.
