On Thursday, July 18 the Young Alumni Council hosted the Young Alumni Leadership 
Summit at the Minneapolis Club in downtown Minneapolis. The Council set out to engage their peers in conversation around the colleges greatest priority to build the Center for Science, Business, and Religion. The event hosted over 100 young alumni from across the last decade. Guests enjoyed the opportunity to reconnect with one another, hear from members of the Young Alumni Council, current聽
faculty and students, as well as President Pribbenow and National Campaign Chair, Mike Good ’71.
We, the young alumni council, believe that our graduates are just as much the future of 
Augsburg College as those who currently attend and those who will attend in the future.聽 The alumni have the ability to make a name and build a brand for their former school as much as the students and faculty present at the college. 聽What do we want that brand to be and what do we want our college to look like 50 years from now?
We have the opportunity to open doors for others and for each other.聽 Our opportunity is to invest in Augsburg College and to build our brand in our community, in our workplace, in our network, and between each other.聽We achieve this by committing to our alma mater and by staying involved in the process.聽 By being here this evening, you have declared yourself as a leader in our young alumni network.聽 We, the young alumni council, ask you to join us.

During the last weekend of June, Alumni who attended Augsburg in the 1970s were invited to campus to share fellowship and meet with Augsburg’s President, members of the faculty and student researchers. This “Alumni Leadership Summit” was organized by Mike Good ’71 and Wayne Jorgenson ’71 who are both serving as leaders in the campaign to build the Center for Science, Business, and Religion.
On June 21 and 22, former Augsburg classmates, roommates and teammates from the 1980s reunited on campus for the 1980s Leadership Summit to learn about the college’s top priority, the Center for Science, Business, and Religion. The Summit began with a warm welcome from Karina Karl茅n 鈥�83 and an inspirational speech from Chris Ascher ’81 who encouraged his classmates to invest in this new signature facility that will engage future leaders in collaborative inquiry and, through them, shape our world.
Augsburg boast over 150 Physics alumni whose careers were launched by the education they received on our campus.聽 Each year many physics alumni return to Augsburg in April to attend the .聽 This year a group of leaders聽 (pictured above) extended their stay to聽 participate in a Campaign Summit for the Center for Science, Business and Religion.
