Walking Escorts<\/h2>\n

Walking escorts on campus are available to the Augsburg community and its visitors 24\/7\/365.<\/p>\n

Vehicle Escorts<\/h2>\n

The Department of Public Safety also offers vehicle escorts from \u201cdusk until dawn\u201d. Throughout the year, campus community members may request a vehicle escort during the following times:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

All requested escorts must have point of origin or destination on campus. The only exception to this would be in the event of a non-emergency transport to an authorized medical facility.<\/p>\n

The Director of Public Safety or their designee may suspend escort operations due to inclement weather or an emergency or exigent circumstance.<\/p>\n

Requesting an Escort<\/h2>\n

When a University community member requests an escort, the Department of Public Safety will need some information in order to get you where you need to go:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Your name.<\/li>\n
  • A phone number we can contact you on in case of a delay.<\/li>\n
  • Augsburg ID number.<\/li>\n
  • Point of origin.<\/li>\n
  • Point of destination.<\/li>\n
  • Number of people in party (groups of three or more will need to separate into two or more groups).<\/li>\n
  • Any mobility issues<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Anyone requesting an escort must:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • Be dressed appropriately for the weather.<\/li>\n
    • Be at the intended pickup point at the time of their request.<\/li>\n
    • Disclose any luggage or large items that they intend to bring with them during the escort.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      The requesting party must be prepared to physically move or carry any luggage or large items in their possession, with the exception of mobility assist devices (e.g., foldable wheelchair, crutches, etc.).
